Summer Camp FAQs

How are you able to social distance in a camp setting?
We will be following these guidelines:

  • 6’ social distancing throughout the camp will be promoted.
  • Classes will be in stable cohorts with the same kids and ideally the same provider in the same group each day.
  • Groups will be in separate spaces within the facility, such as staggered playground times and special activities like art and music.
  • Carpet squares, mats or other visuals will be used to help kids with spacing.
  • Tables with name cards may also be used to adequately space kids.

Will you offer swimming or group swim lessons during camp?
We will offer swim time but not group swim lessons at this time.

Will you be taking field trips?
We are continually monitoring the availability of our field trip venues. As of right now, we are unable to visit the planned locations.

What activities will you offer during camp?
We will focus on STEM activities, arts and crafts, and non-contact sports and games. 

Will my child have to wear a face covering or mask?
No. We do not require children under 13 to wear face coverings or masks, but employees are required to wear them.

Should I pack lunch and snacks?
If you purchased lunches for the week, we will prepare them according to specific safety protocols. Snacks will not be provided. If you pack snacks and lunches, please note our childcare area remains nut and peanut-free.

Can my child bring personal items?
Yes, but please limit items to lunches/snacks, jackets/sweaters, and other essentials. All items must be labeled and kept in a separate bag. Toys and other non-essential items are not allowed until further notice.

Can my child bring his/her own hand sanitizer?
Individual hand sanitizer is allowed if separately labeled; however, sanitizing stations/wipes will be provided throughout the area and kids will be washing their hands with soap and water frequently.

How will children be checked in and out of camp
Camp check-in and check-out will take place in the main lobby. Your child will be checked into the club and then into camp. Please maintain social distance when dropping off and picking up your child.

What happens if we notify you a child at camp has tested positive for COVID-19?
You may choose to either pick your child up or let him/her remain and trust the club to take appropriate safeguards.

Are there additional precautions I should be aware of?
Yes. There are enhanced risks of campers being in direct contact with individuals ages 65+ for 14 days after the end of the camp session.

What is your sick policy for kids?
All sick kids, regardless of the nature of the sickness, are not permitted at camp, including kids exhibiting COVID-19 symptoms. If exhibiting COVID-19 symptoms, please seek testing promptly and report results to the camp given the implications for other children, families, and staff. Campers confirmed to have COVID-19 may not return to the current or future camp sessions until all 3 of the following criteria are met: (1) at least 72 hours have passed since recovery (resolution of fever without the use of fever-reducing medications); (2) the camper has improvement in symptoms (e.g., cough, shortness of breath); and (3) at least 10 days have passed since symptoms first appeared. If campers have been in close contact with a person lab-confirmed COVID-19 positive, then they are not permitted at camp.

What is your sick policy for employees?
All sick employees, regardless of the nature of the sickness, are not permitted to work, including employees exhibiting COVID-19 symptoms. Staff exhibiting new or worsening COVID-19 symptoms will be asked to seek testing promptly and report results to management given the implications for children, families, and other staff. Staff confirmed to have COVID-19 may not return to work until all 3 of the following criteria are met: (1) at least 72 hours have passed since recovery (resolution of fever without the use of fever-reducing medications); (2) the employee has improvement in symptoms (e.g., cough, shortness of breath); and (3) at least 10 days have passed since symptoms first appeared. Are you checking temperatures?
All parents are required to check their child’s temperature and monitor for other symptoms before they leave home each day. If you forget to take your child’s temperature, thermometers will be available at check-in for you to take his/her temperature.  

How often do you clean?
Staff will be frequently cleaning and disinfecting high-use items such as tables, chairs, handles, sinks, and restrooms, as well as shared toys, supplies, and equipment, and at the end of each day. 

What chemicals do you use to clean?
We use a safe mixture of bleach and water per state or local orders and guidance for daycare settings that has been approved for use with SARS-CoV2.
