Colorado Springs Employee Spotlight: Chris Smith

EMPLOYEE: Chris Smith, Summer Camp Coordinator

BACKGROUND

I have had the privilege of serving as camp coordinator for seven summers at VillaSport. During the school year, I teach 6th-8th grade science at Sabin Middle School and mentor student teachers from UCCS.  I absolutely love getting others excited about exploring the world around them and developing meaningful relationships with youth.  Every summer is an adventure!

INTERESTING FACTS

When I am not at school or camp, I thoroughly enjoy sport climbing, playing guitar, and spending time with family.

The best part about VillaSport is definitely the people. When you get to laugh, dance, and launch water balloons with coworkers it’s a great day!

My favorite food is anything pesto. I could probably eat every meal at Noodles & Company.

I’ve explored 48 states and still need to visit North Dakota and Alaska. The best, of course, is Pennsylvania where I grew up. Go Steelers!

My dream vacation would be to hike in the natural beauty of New Zealand.
