If you are like most, you want to move past 2020 as soon as possible. Here is a suggestion to help you move in this direction today: Instead of waiting for January to begin your New Year’s resolution to lose weight or get in shape, why not start now? 2020 has truly been a year like no other; what better time to change things up in how we approach our most precious asset…our health.

We are less than 100 days out from the New Year, but there is nothing stopping us from practicing healthier habits today.  You don’t have to be a medical or fitness professional to know that eating right and engaging in daily exercise are good for you.  These two healthy habits will help you reach your healthy weight, strengthen your immune system and make you look and feel better.  Healthier bodies are also less likely to suffer the worst effects from COVID-19, the flu, diabetes, heart disease, cancer, and a host of other illnesses.  Healthier bodies are also better able to handle stress and emotional challenges.

Individually, we cannot control the coronavirus. We cannot control the economy. We cannot control the bad behavior of others. But, we have nearly complete control of what we eat and how much exercise we get each day.  At a time when we are all feeling more vulnerable than ever, doesn’t it make sense to take control of our own health and make it a priority?

I challenge you to make today the day you begin your journey to a healthier you. Don’t waste 2020 on the pandemic. Use the next three months to get yourself in the best possible condition to make 2021 your healthiest year ever!
